I'm really not sure why we don't have !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! in America, to be honest; after all, the Jeep Wrangler is probably the most American car ever made, and it has practically no competition in our market. So, Ford, what gives?

Edit: I should point out that this is a cab-on-chassis RWD/4x4 with a Diesel engine.

I'd rather have the 3.2 "Powerstroke".

But the original bronco was essentially a 4x4 mustang, Id want something true to that form

Eh, not quite. It was a BOF while the Mustang was unibody. Plus, it was available with a straight 6. On top of that, when offroading, you want power down low. The 5.0 is more of a high strung engine. The Ecoboost would even be a better choice than the Coyote.

I feel Ford should tart it up a bit and bring it over as a compact Jeep competitor. If the Renegade takes off, they have little reason not to.

I wonder with Brazilian building standards if they're up to scratch for North American markets.

what?

The Bronco (at least the '89 and the '96 I had) were chassis code U-150. Stood for Utility half-ton, and a good portion of the chassis and front suspension was the same as the F-150 truck.

Probably won't pass safety our regs. However that is one segment no one is trying to compete in other than Chrysler.

My guess is they have a market strategy team that only looks at forecasts for growth. "The small crossover is expected to grow by 4% next year". Instead of the offroad market is expected to decline 2% BUT we could steal a third of the market share with a innovative design.

after seeing the below videos of it's already fantastic water fording abilities...what do you think is the biggest turbo diesel Ford motor you could fit?

We don't have many diesels here in Australia and none of your truck engines (assuming you are from The Americas...)

The entry-level engine of the original Bronco was a straight six, same as the original mustang. I've also felt the 1st gen Bronco has always had a Mustang vibe. Almost as if Ford put an extra bit of sporty styling into it as opposed to its Jeep or International counterparts.
